In 2018, my life as I knew it came crashing down when I made the decision to leave an emotionally abusive and toxic af marriage and left everything I knew to restart my life.
I left what appeared to be my dream life, packed my shit in garbage bags, left the beautiful home I just remodeled, my amazing dogs, a Porsche, a business, assets, and sunny South Florida. I filed for divorce, went broke overnight, & moved across the country to the rainy city of Seattle with a suitcase & a dream of a different future for myself.
I can still remember the pain and confusion I felt after leaving a toxic and abusive marriage. I really thought that leaving was enough. I thought that ending the relationship would bring the happiness and freedom I desired

I escaped the toxicity but realized I didn’t escape my past. I found myself living in a new place but now felt more lost, broken, hurt, and confused than ever except now I was broke, technically homeless, didn’t have a job, and didn’t know anyone.
I thought once I left I would be happy and feel free, but I quickly realized that ending the toxic relationship was really just the beginning of my healing journey.
